Last Night of the Proms
Every year I check to see if there are any Villa-Lobos works included in the Proms concerts, and I'm usually disappointed. But yesterday's Proms announcement includes three works on the schedule for 2009: Bachianas Brasileiras #5 with soprano Ailish Tynan and the VL arrangements for cello orchestra of Bach preludes & fugues, in Concert #16 (August 31st); and Choros #10 on the Last Night of the Proms (September 12th).
